Chen vs Yang

The battle for Kaohsiung On the right is the a poster of Yang Chiu-hsing (楊秋興), the commissioner of Kaohsiung County. On the left is Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu (陳菊) endorsing someone as a candidate for city councillor. When this photo was taken in February 2010 Yang and Chen were competing for nomination as the DPP's candidate for mayor of the merged Kaohsiung city and county. Chen won the nomination from the DPP. Subsequently Yang broke away from the DPP and joined the election as an independent candidate.
